Decline in debit bounce rates hints at pick-up in collections

Data from the National Payments Corporation of India’s (NPCI) National Automated Clearing House (NACH) platform showed that failure rates for debit transactions used for recurring debit payments, like equated monthly instalments (EMIs) and insurance, fell to 27.35% by value in July, down from 30.27% in June, indicating more payments were successful.

China shares rise on liquor sector bounce

The blue-chip CSI300 index rose 1.2% to 5,043.15, while the Shanghai Composite Index gained 1% to 3,529.93. The liquor sector led gains in afternoon trade, rising 6.84% after hitting a four-month low in July.

Gems, jewellery exports bounce back to pre-pandemic levels

The overall gross exports of gems and jewellery witnessed a growth of 8.46% to Rs. 67,265.66 crore during April – June of 2021 as compared to Rs 62,018.48 crore during the same period in April -June 2019, according to figures released by Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) released on Wednesday.
